The hydraulic pump motor has a green wire and a blue wire coming out of it. I will need to put a toggel switch in the circuit to enable the trolling plate to be lowered when I want to go very slow, and again raise it for travelng at speed. My question is which of the red or black wires connects to the blue or green wire on the pump motor, and which wire goes to the switch. I believe the red wire from the battery goes to the long side of the switch, where does the black wire from the battery go? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

green grass, blue sky.

green down, blue up.

the motor runs in both directions. by putting power to one wire and ground to the other it runs one way, switch the wires and it runs the other direction.

red is usually hot to the switch.

and black is usually the ground.

i hadnt realized anybody made a hydrualic trolling plate. what i am seeing of price and weight and install while looking it up, i sure as he!! wouldnt buy one.

not with so many other cheap and effective options.

drag a drift sock. drag a 5 gallon bucket with a bunch of holes in it.

$100 for one of these can be installed and be ready for use in minutes.

just make certian it went up and locked in the up position. but if it didnt, it bends the plate and you get a new one.

this type doesnt do teh super slow as well, but does slightly faster better. and if you forget to raise it may survive undamaged.

again, about $100 and just minutes to install.

and then you got that guy, sucks if you plan on using reverse at all. but totally automatic, springs drop it in place when you slow and thrust pushes it out of the way when you go. also only about $100 and just takes minutes to install.

green is for down (think, grass) and blue is for up (think sky).

You can do this with a double pole double throw (DPDT) center off momentary toggle. Like this:

It'll be hard to describe without a pic but I'll try:

turn the switch over, with the toggle facing away from you. You'll see six terminals, three left and three right. In the diagram below, wire colors are shown. The "A" and "B" are not wires, they're just for reference.

__A____x_____x----green

_red-----x_____x----black

__B____x_____x----blue

Now, use two jumper wires and connect "A" with the blue wire, and "B" with the green wire.

Be sure to use a heavy duty DC switch. An AC switch will work but won't last as long.
