Would it be against the law to build a warship like a battlecruiser.?

I would like to build a ww2 type battlecruiser, but because it has weapons on it would i be allowed to build it as i does not belong to a navy.

i think you can build 1 if you want but weapons will have to be imitation & you will need at least 150 million to make a full size one good luck with your project

This question is probably irrelevant you couldn't afford it and I doubt there are any companies left that could cast the guns or the armor I believe it has become a lost art since such vessels haven't been built in over 60 years. If you could find a builder you would need to have permits from the country building the weapons and the country that the ship will call home. To get around this you could have the guns permanently disabled and thus get around the weapons laws.

Uhm, unless your Bill Gates I doubt you could afford to buld one. occasionaly though navies do sell there old surplus ships to civilians, although they are usually stripped of all weaopons and propulsion systems. You might be ale to habe weapons sytems on your boat in International waters, but as you came within the territorial waters of a Country, they may decide your a threat and open fire.

Building the ship would not be the problem, putting the guns on it would be against the law. You would havae to be in the top ten of the fortune 500 to be able to build it.
