How to install Attwood 3-pin light pole base?

According to the instructions I need to attach the black wire of the 3-pin pole base to a ground, the blue wire to the switch from the courtesy light, and the grey wire to a switch for the navigation running lights.

The problem is that I don't have courtesy lights, or a courtesy light switch. I simply have a console with a fused positive bus bar, an additional fused bus bar beside it, 2 negative bus bars, and a 3 prong toggle switch.

I'm assuming that I can substitute- connect to courtesy switch- as //connect to a positive source and simply connect both the blue and grey wire to positive sources.. but, I'm not sure..?

I welcome any/all reasonable advice..thanks!

I had to think on this for a minute. I'm assuming you are using this for a 360 deg. white light. If you have a running light switch, it will have an on for navigation and an on for anchor (which does not power the red/green). So The blue goes to one and the gray the other. if you connect them together all running lights would be on at anchor?

The only reason to hook up the blue wire would be if you are using a bow/combination light that has a small courtesy/ deck light on it.If you are hooking up an anchor light or bow light without the deck light, just leave the blue wire disconnected. If in fact you do have the optional deck light on a bow light, you can hook the blue wire to any fused power source. Also, in order to hook your nav/anchor lights up properly, you will need a dpdt (6 prong) switch.

U need the pole and check the plug for where the wire go to the bulbs if U have a all clear lens than it a anchor running stern light combo.

1 is ground

1 is aft light

1 is anchor combo aft light.
